Hypnotherapy FAQs

The experience of Clinical Hypnotherapy/Hypnosis can vary greatly from person to person and may change with each session. Many clients describe it as the deepest relaxation they’ve ever felt, while still remaining mentally alert and aware of their surroundings. This unique state of focused calm is what makes Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy so effective. Typically, people find that their stress levels decrease, their confidence increases, and they enjoy an overall sense of well-being.

During a session, you may notice physical sensations such as:
  • A feeling of weightlessness or floating
  • A gentle heaviness as your muscles begin to relax
  • A profound sense of inner peace and calm
Most people report:
  •  Reduced stress and anxiety
  •  Increased confidence and self-belief
  • An overall boost in emotional well-being
Whether you’re seeking help for intense fears or phobias, low self-esteem, or simply want to feel more balanced, Clinical Hypnotherapy/Hypnosis offers a safe and empowering path forward.

The effectiveness of treatment depends on the specific condition being addressed. For issues like smoking cessation (quitting smoking), noticeable results can usually occur after just one session; however, I personally prefer to conduct a follow-up session for the most beneficial outcomes. More complex conditions, such as phobias or intense fears, usually require more time and may need 2 to 4 sessions for effective treatment.

Each session is tailored to meet the individual needs of the client, which will be discussed during your initial consultation. Generally, the average timeframes are as follows:
  •  Your first session will last about 90 minutes.
  •  Subsequent sessions typically range from 60 to 75 minutes.
Please note that the exact duration may vary based on each client’s unique requirements. Since each session is customised, session lengths may differ accordingly.

Whenever you enter a hypnotic trance, you remain fully in control. You cannot be made to do anything that goes against your will. If you truly wanted to, you could easily get up and walk about at any time.

Rest assured that all sessions will be conducted with the utmost confidentiality. There may be times when the therapist has concerns regarding certain medical conditions and may need to consult with your GP for advice before beginning treatment. All therapists are trustworthy, skilled, and uphold a high standard of professionalism while adhering to a strict code of ethics.
